PROJECTS & CAMPAIGNS

PER Regional Center for Central, East and South East Europe
unfolds in the frame of the program
â??Combating prejudges and intolerance through intercultural dialogueâ??

The CAMPAIGN

Program supported by the DEPARTMENT FOR INTERETHNIC RELATIONS

The simple recognition of the â??Otherâ?? can generate tense interethnic relations. The Campaign â??Diversity â?? a further chance towards the futureâ?? has the purpose to diminish this deficit of knowledge through intercultural dialogue strictly speaking and through intercultural artistic expression. The intercultural dialogue aims to reinforce respect for cultural diversity in nowadays societyâ??s complex reality, characterized by the coexistence of different cultural identities and believes.

The various activities comprised in the Campaign aim to promote the contribution of different cultures to the patrimony and the way of living in Romania and also to validate intercultural dialogue as an essential factor for future development of Romanian and European multicultural societies, societies in which knowing the Other can be a significant resource for any individual, and a richness conferring a stronger identity to the community.

Including in this intercultural dialogue along with artists, activists from civil area, will result in finding innovating ways and every day life good practices that could contribute or are already contributing to harmonious interethnic relations.

The Campaign comprises among its objectives those of the Year of Intercultural Dialogue of the European Commission.

PER Regional Center will deploy the components of the Campaign â??Diversity â?? a further chance towards the futureâ?? second edition all along 2008, organizing the activities according to the Campaignâ??s Calendar, in partnership with the Department for Interethnic Relations, Divers Association, Ministry of Education, Research and Youth and Ministry of Culture and Cults.

The Campaignâ??s details are disseminated on PER Regional Centerâ??s web page www.per.org.ro.
